This was the third guitar that I started, but the 4th to get finished. I had some trouble with it. The new owner is someone I know that lives in So Cal. He came and picked it up last week. It had some problems, most notably a slightly concave top. I learned a lot on this build. The guitar sounded very good to me and the new owner. He said it is the best sounding guitar he has ever owned and has decided to sell off 2 others because he know he will not be playing them much now that he has this one. How cool is that?
I let it go pretty cheap, just covering the cost, but the buyer snuck in another $100 when he paid me. I just took the money and didn't count it. When I called him about it, he said that was intentional. What a nice guy.
It is OM size, sitka on bubinga, maple bindings, with spalted maple rosette.
I really like bubinga. It is very hard to sand, but it cuts and bends nice, finishes easy and is almost so hard that it is dent proof.
